Ynys Môn MP Visits Metex

Ynys Môn MP Virginia Crosbie visited Metex Ltd recently to discuss net zero goals and the challenges faced by local businesses.

“We were delighted to host Virginia Crosbie, our MP for Ynys Môn, here at Metex.  We discussed how the business is evolving towards achieving net zero and were pleased to demonstrate the patented products that we develop and distribute from our base on Anglesey”, Metex Director Daniel Bamford commented.

Ms Crosbie said: “I was delighted to meet this company at its Gaerwen premises to talk about the business climate and topics like how freeport status will help investment and jobs. Metex has a range of well-known brands and products that will stand the test of time, and is just the sort of business we want here on Anglesey.

Importantly, it is aiming to deliver net zero by working with Greener Edge and Grwp Llandrillo Menai, who are utilising funds from the UK Government’s £2.7m Community Renewal Fund for a greener island future.”

Metex specialises in wall fixings, screed & concrete tools, sprayers and pest control equipment, and has made changes across the business to work towards net zero, including working with suppliers, changing packaging and switching to recycled materials in product manufacturing.
